Healthier options are hard to find these days. Fortunately, doing a little research helps when you really want to find alternatives that are not only good for your body but also a good change for palette, too!
One word -- Innovative! That's pretty much the description I can give Shizen Vegan & Izakaya when my friends and I showed up after searching for #veganeats in #sanfrancisco and in the bay area. We believe in nourishing our bodies with good nutrition but yet still appreciate similar dishes served with regular meats, fish and chicken. Finding this spot was a gem since their innovative menu line up -- pretty much caught our whole entire attention.

There are options for just about everyone. If you're like me and like that extra habanero kick to your food, then I recommend their Secret Weapon Sushi Roll! It has both the sweet and spicy flavors mixed together making it a fulfilling option to enjoy with a few appetizers. The Eryngii mushroom tempura rolled up with avocado, pickled pineapple, spicy shredded tofu, torched jalapenos, sweet shoyu & signature habanero sauce make it one #mouthwatering vegan roll to enjoy!
Made room for Vegan dessert!
Please do tell me you always make room for dessert! If you're like me, I like to ensure I get a well rounded meal that ends with a sweet dessert after eating spicy food. It's like the perfect flow on my palette that I need and must always have.
Here's a foodie tip. Always ask your server what their dessert options are for that day. The reason why I mention this is because they have a limited amount of dessert(s) available for the day. We had to reserve our dessert in advance due to their limited available. Interesting, right? That definitely was a surprise. The best part of all of this -- was that the dessert did not disappoint. It was #flavorful with all of the variety of fruits it came with.
